Academic Structure

General Instructions for all classes

  • Minimum attendance requirement for the session is at least 75% otherwise the student will not be allowed to sit in the Final / Board Examination.
  • If a pupil is detained twice in a particular class, he/she will not be allowed to continue in the school.
  • Students of classes III to VIII who do not pass in one or more subjects in annual examination will have to compulsorily appear for retest in the same.

For Pre-primary Classes

Formative Assessment:
Portfolios, Observation sheets, project-based work, anecdotal records, worksheets, role plays and oral presentation.

Summative Assessment:
Oral test, paper-pencil test, assignment, questions on pictures and discussions.

 

For Class III – VIII

There would be two terms in the session

Part I : Scholastic Assessment (8 point scale)

TERM 1 – TOTAL 100 marks

a. Internal Assessment (20 marks): Periodic Test – 5 marks, Portfolio – 5 marks, Multiple Assessment – 5 marks, Subject Enrichment – 5 marks
b. Half Yearly Exam (80 marks)

TERM 2 – TOTAL 100 Marks

a. Internal Assessment (20 marks):
Periodic Test – 5 marks, Portfolio – 5 marks, Multiple Assessment – 5 marks, and Subject Enrichment – 5 marks
b. Annual Exam (80 marks)

Part II : Co-Scholastic Areas & Discipline (3 point grading system)

III – V

P – Proficient, D – Developing and E - Evolving

VI – VIII

A – Outstanding, B – Very Good and C - Fair

 

For Class IX – X

Part I – Scholastic Assessment

The assessment scheme will have an 80 marks component for Board Examination (Class X) and Annual Examination (Class IX) in all subjects except compulsory subjects to be assessed internally along with a 20 marks component of Internal Assessment. Students have to secure 33% in total in each of the components.

OVERALL GRAND TOTAL – 100 marks

a. Internal Assessment (20 marks):
Periodic Test – 5 marks (Three periodic tests would be conducted and average of the best two would be taken for final marks), Portfolio – 5 marks, Multiple assessment – 5 marks, and Subject enrichment – 5 marks
b. Annual Examination/Board Examination (80 marks)

Part II: Co-scholastic Areas & Discipline (5 Points Grading Scale A,B,C,D & E)

Art Education, Health & Physical Education, and Discipline

Note: Promotion Policy for class IX-X or changes in any other areas as per CBSE Circulars will be duly informed.

For Class XI

There will be two unit tests, Half Yearly & Annual Examination.

For Class XII

here would be two terms and two pre-boards in a session. Minimum pass percentage in each subject (Theory & practical separately) is 33%.
