At Pre-Primary Wing D-Top of APS Bhopal, we endeavour to create a school atmosphere where each child counts individually. To start with, Sudarshan Chakra Army Pre-Primary School D - TOP was established on 15th Jan 2018. On 23rd June 2023, it was merged with Army Public School, Bhopal and renamed to PPW D-Top. An overview of the pre-primary wing functioning in line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with emphasis on infrastructure, pedagogy, and classroom management is mentioned below:
The aim of the wing is to impart quality pre-primary education primarily to the children in accordance with the guidelines of AWES. D-TOP is best understood as holistic development of the young children in the following domains-

The wing provides a safe, inclusive, and vibrant environment conducive to early childhood care and education (ECCE). Classrooms are spacious, well-lit, ventilated, and equipped with child-friendly furniture. Outdoor play areas, sensory activity zones, and reading corners promote holistic development. Clean drinking water, child-safe toilets, and hygiene stations are maintained as per safety norms.
At Pre-Primary Wing D-Top, every moment is a doorway to discovery. Rooted in the vision of National Education Policy, we lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning, guided by care, creativity, and NEP vision.
Following NEP 2020, the school adopts a play-based, activity-driven, and discovery-oriented approach. Teaching is experiential, integrating storytelling, music, art, and games to enhance curiosity and motor skills. Learning outcomes are mapped to the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS), ensuring cognitive, emotional, and language development in children aged 3–6 years.
Classrooms are managed with care and empathy. Teachers ensure an inclusive atmosphere where every child is heard and valued. Mixed-age groupings encourage peer learning, cooperation, and responsibility. Classroom routines are flexible and child-centric. Activities are designed to promote socio-emotional learning, discipline through dialogue, and a sense of belonging.

Quality teaching nurtures a holistic learning experience that enhances students' confidence and equips them to face the challenges of the modern world.
Educators undergo regular training in ECCE and NEP-aligned practices. They are equipped to use multilingual strategies, assess developmentally appropriate milestones, and support children’s individual needs. (D- TOP) pre-primary section stands committed to the NEP vision of equitable, joyful, and foundational learning. Through proper infrastructure, modern pedagogy, and nurturing classroom management, the institution lays a strong educational base for lifelong learning.
